Hi all, I'm a fisheries biologist currently working for NOAA. I was curious if there were any other wildlife/environmental biologists/ecologists out there on WP? What drew you to the field? What have been your biggest challenges?

I'm recently diagnosed as an Aspie and my husband didn't believe me because I'm excellent at giving presentations at meetings, conferences, etc. I think it's because there's a sort of disconnect there for me, it's not necessarily a "social" interaction...

have you fallen from heaven ... diatoms fascinate me, as does freshwater algae/ plankton in general.

i spent at least eight years taking samples and sketching and identifying what I saw, i am a mini expert on ditches.

my garden is a wonderful habitat/ refuge for birds and I garden anonymously on a bigger scale at a local mining waste area that has been capped with soil and landscaped, at the moment I have many hundreds of common spotted orchid in flower!!

hope we can talk ....

regards etc
