Why do some Laptops and Computers(specifally my REFURBISHED(bought manufacturer refurbished off of ebay for school) ACER 5552G-7632) make crackeling noises when they have a lot of usage going on?
Also could someone please help explain to me why my laptop powercord/adaptor tip(plug into the laptop) all of a sudden started sparking/making a funny noise/smelled like burnt rubber? It got really limp as well, and thats the thing I dont see any wires showing and the laptop itself was cool. So why all of a sudden did my OLD HP DV7-3085DX laptop adaptor do this? I have heard that HP is supposed to be excellent.
Why do laptops get slower when there are a lot of needed updates?*
Finally why did/do both of my laptops(and most of the computers here) do * and like to reapply the same updates over and over and over?

Sounds like a dodgy lead...I would replace that as it could be dangerous. The laptop may need a new battery. The updates thing is probably software issue, there may be a backlog of updates to install. You could always turn off automatic updates in windows, though its not recommended for security.

I have personally heard HP's are horrible, and have one myself and can agree. They're horribly put together and can overheat really fast.

That said, if it's installing the same updates over and over again, something may have gone wrong. It sucks, but you may want to reinstall Windows or whatever you use. There may be a way to hunt down the issue without doing so, but I honestly wouldn't know it, and reinstalling actually gives your computer a fresh start with the registry and the like.

You may want to call in the warranty on that ACER, and maybe demand a replacement (After backing up your data.) as there could be a connection issue on the inside. Then again, I'm not expert, and it could just be the battery like Chiastic said.

Yes this cracking sound happens when I play videos on the Acer. I seem to notice that it ONLY happens when I have a ton of things running.

Every time I plug in the cord it does that. The Adaptor tip gets limp, starts cracking, smoking and lights up. I tested it outside to be more safe. I have a new battery but it needs to be charged. Infact..I have been told that a faulty adaptar cord when plugged in always shows a "battery meter". My battery meter has been having issues. (Doesnt register that theirs a battery in their for a few minutes, says its plugged in charging, then plugged in not charging). Thing was we tested the AMPS/VOLTS on the adapter when this starting happening. It seemed to be just fine. So maybe its just something inside? Also HP Doesnt sell the adaptor anymore. Does Ebay, I wonder?

Run by a local computer store. Most don't mind if you test out their AC adapters. Find one that matches the voltage and wattage of your battery/machine, and test it out. If it still gives these signs after testing more than 1 or more adapters, then it's something on the inside.
You can abuse Best Buy. Last I checked, even when going out of business they didn't really have a policy against asking to try an adapter to make sure it works. Just don't let them sucker you into paying for some support.

we have come to the conclusion that its the adaptor. the battery works just fine.
as for that Im waiting until I get paid.
Thanks all.
Also anyone know of any good cleaners for tablets, what about dusters?
And the Acer laptop when it crackels(when I watch videos) the sound is coming from near where you plug in the adaptor.
Also linux doesnt want to install. Help please?

If this helps..... here is where I got the Tablet (my mother got one for me, with the exception of me paying 4 dollars for the warranty). :http://www.ebay.com/itm/221017826480?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 the tablet itself says its a 2.3 Android.
As for the Acer well here : http://www.ebay.com/itm/150847343945?ss ... 1423.l2649
Thing is when I got it, things would randomly open and randomly start up, end and move on their own, and the sound has been doing this for a while(and now I swear I can hear noises like someone grunting coming from it), updates are ackward(same update over and over). Things download ackwardly, and I have run virus, malware, rootkit FULL scans. They come up with nothing or major things which dont go away. I have also upgraded drivers which have helped for a while, but I cant wipe the hard-drive I have tried. So when I get the warranty and take it in, will they repair everything FREE?
Also arent/dont most internal webcams have a light that indicates when they're on? This one doesnt.

As for the HP: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Pavilion-dv7 ... 337a26b97d I got the HP at bestbuy.....It does the same things except more severe things like not starting up, turning itself off, restarting itself, plus the other things. It makes weird startup noises and when you dont install the updates it gets even slowerrrr (same updates over and over)..
I used both laptops for school, and playing some games....I cant afford a new one, so will the warranty help?
Also I have taken both apart and both have black soot, so if I clean the inside will that help? BOTH have come this way with all these errors.

Well with DVDs/CDs it could be the sound of the disc spinning very quickly.

Other times it could be the fan possibly with dust build up.

So what would you do/recommend any products?
