I don't pay much attention to CES vaporware. No release dates and no prices. Let me know when any of this stuff hits the market.

I haven't really even seen any interesting news so far. Ars had a non-review of a Ubuntu phone they were not actually allowed to use. That's the kind of vaporware I'm talking about. Google and Apple don't do much at CES.

Windows 8 looks like it is going to go down in flames. This is a roundup:

Anything that has a price and specs is overpriced, in fact I don't know who is going to buy this stuff. $1100 for a Surface Pro netbook with a 10" screen? You could get a full-sized laptop for half that.

OLPC has a reputation for not shipping and not hitting their price points. If they had a tablet in Wal-Mart, it would be nice, but they have trouble competing with regular low-end manufacturers. Wal-Mart can get all the cheap tablets they want from off-brand electronics suppliers. I'm sure Wal-Mart would go along with OLPC to get feel-good points with the general public, if the tablet ever makes it to market.

CES happened? Oh. I guess I'll have the same reaction when E3 rolls by.

Dude, you have so much misinformation in your posts its not even funny. The surface is more powerful than most full size laptops, there are however 499 win 8 tablet/netbooks like the vivotab smart.

I was unimpressed with CES this year.

I didn't see much, but I think the 3D printer is cool and that X-Box thing was awesome, but I feel like it will stop being fun after a few days, just like Kinect and the Wii.
