Right now: Windows XP Media Center 2003
Hopefully this summer: Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate
Might I ask (hopefully without giving offense)
why you want to run Vista?
Early indications are that many home computers currently in use won't run Vista at all, and around 90% of those that will, will run only the most basic new features. Vista corrupts iPods, runs even slower than Windows XP, and takes away more consumer rights than ever before. There are real-world cases out there of people who've bought brand new laptops with Vista pre-loaded, and cannot play the demo movie
preloaded on the laptop by the manufacturer because Vista considers it "premium content", and the laptop's LCD display is not certified in Vista as secure for "premium content". There's people who've found Vista won't let them watch their own camcorder footage, because they can't prove to Vista that they have the right to view it.
Remember, when you hear Microsoft pontificating about "trusted computing", that the one person with access to your computer whom Vista
explicitly does not trust is
you.
