I knew that i can do this by sticking microphone to headphone :-)
but I wonder if there's a program that will be able to rip the soundtrack of the film.

DVD Video soft "Free Studio" is a wonderful program with 2 dozen or so "Modules". One is 'Video to MP3' but I've never done a full movie with it. It handles .avi to MP3. I mostly use YouTube to MP3 Converter. It's a great tool and free forever, You can download each module separately, but the Free Studio has it all. Google "Free Studio 2013"

The Linux audio utility Sound Converter is able to do this with no problem. The default conversion is .ogg, so set it up to save to .wav instead. --Converting to .mp3 requires the proper codecs to be downloaded and installed.

This also works well with .swf files downloaded from YouTube abd the like.

Just tested this with an 'avi' movie. RealPlayerworks (free program, comes with its own converter). If you want to use this, you just open the program and drop the file into it. Right click the file and choose'Converte to". Choose 'Mp3 Only' on the Convert To drop down. Audio ended up being a 1/5 the size of the file.
