Hi :)

' Just curious really - is anyone else here into Architectural Visualisation?

I use 3ds Max, V-Ray, and CS6.

I think it'd be cool to chat with other Aspie visualisers, about this subject.

Regards,

Tom

When I read the topic, I thought it was of "internal architectural visualisation". So I am very good at memorizing or creating/imaginating buildings from plans or walkthrough - its what I do in my job all day ^^, but I dont use any software for it. The buildings exist simply in my braind and I can zoom or fade them out, go into certain position, vary them... I do as well like documents of historical buildings, so its very interesting for me to see cuts of old churches and buildings, to understand how the static of that building functioned, before the "steelcement"-era or in which way facilities were arranged, due to the living standard of people.

That sounds unusual, I have never heard of such work. What is your role/job title? Are you an architect?

I did an animation degree, with a final year hons in Architectural Visualisation. As of yet I haven't found a steady job, but am keen to adress this challenge, although somewhat anxious too.

Nope its about calculation and payment of building sites. So in the planning status, I need to be able to imagine how something finally looks, while in the actual building time, I need to memorize about which parts of the building are already billed/payed... The construction sites plop up in my head, and the certain elements get certain colours, due if they are already billed or not. ^^ It makes my coworkers crazy, but it functions. ^^

I got my degree in environmental engineering, so its about riverbuilding, riverdams, water movement in earth, biology, ... but actually I work in a building company. If I now imagine rivers/landscapes or buildings is not much of an difference, and CAS-planning you learn as well. I´d love to work in a job for my degree, but at least measuring buildings and doing calculation is better then working in Callcenter or McDonalds, until finding a job in my degree. ^^

Oh, so you are able to use use some of your specific aspie-ness to aid you in your work. Cool.

My memory is not great, but I can see when something looks "right" or "wrong", for example if someone photoshops shadows that don't adhere to the rules of perspective, it looks really obvious to me, whilst I am surprised at how often people don't see were they are going wrong in such a case. The same with scale of objects in the scene, and composition.
