Novell have opened the SUSE distro up. You can download the stable 9.3 version, or for thr more experience you can download the 10 preview ( be warned, there are still broken bits in 10). A cd burner and a pile of blank cds are needed.

I have a nasty habit of trying new linux distros as soon as they come out and the result is I have to constantly back stuff up and it gets a bit ridiculous.

So for now I am going to stick with Ubuntu which works out very well for me. I will probably at some point in the future try the new SuSe but not for awhile...

Well, I've installed rhe new version. Not for the faint of heart at the moment as the install is a bit flaky. The 9.3 version is nice though, very stable and with gigs af applications.
Do you like Ubuntu, it seems to be very popular amonst it's converts, but not so much with dinosaurs like myself. I tried it out early this year and was annoyed by the sudoing, etc. Great for people not stuck in the rut, but.....
