Hey, kids. I was curious, do any of you know how to bypass SurfControl? I would really like to get into my Yahoo! Mail account at school. I have the IP address, I just don't know where to go from there.

Thanks.

I know of four possible methods, but I don't know if any will work:

1. Go to http://www.anonymizer.com/ and put the address in the text box. However I doubt this will allow you to log into any sites since it takes a lot of computer-server interaction mumbo jumbo malarkey.

2. If you have a USB key, put Portable Firefox on it. Then run the program from the key on the computer and see if that lets you get through.

3. Have a look at this page.

4. Add a period to the end of the URL when you type it in the address bar.

I assume Surfcontrol would block remote proxies such as anonymizer. Using a different web browser won't do anything. Your school probably blocks the mail for a reason. If you are going to use their computers, you should probably follow their rules. If you are not permitted to check your mail from school based on their TOS agreement and you get caught, you could get suspended which would make it a lot harder to get into a college you want. You could use akamai's mirrors to get the content but that is a pain. http://a1.g.akamaitech.net/6/6/6/6/mail ... /?.intl=us

my high schools computer blocked hotmail just because it sounded pornographic to the computer. we found out that if you went through msn to get to hotmail, it would work. im not sure about your situation though.

This is probably blocked....
http://proxify.com/
If that won't work, Google "proxy avoidance" until you find something that works.
