So, in 2011 my original phone actually ended up in a bath... completely immersed, for a few seconds, and thereafter malfunctioned etc. until it wouldn't switch on properly (although it did, at least, even though it kept re-loading the logo)... tried to take it for repair and they couldn't do it on warranty, and it'll be too expensive otherwise. So, I left it in some box...

Fast forward to a few days ago where I felt like trying to see whether it has any life still and... at first it kept once again repeating the logo, but it was left charging. Then I forgot it, and during the evening I hear an alarm... it was fully on and doesn't seem to malfunction, and can switch on and off normally as well.

So... is this likely to last? Have you ever been in this situation? (It's an Android Mini, by the way.)

My mom's smartphone fell into a cup of water (somehow), so I disassembled the device and let it dry for a few days. She was actually able to use it; there was a little bit of water damage on the screen, but after a few months, it completely disappeared.

A friend said that her friend had a cell phone get soaked. But he opened it up and used a blow dryer on it- and it was good as new.

A bottle of water sprang a leak in my car's cup holder section that also had my cell recharging, and drowned my cell in the resulting pond of water.

Cant find a blow dryer in the house. But opened it and let it dry in the air. Still doesnt work though ( have recharged it). Fortunatly I have an identical phone that I reported as lost that I subsequently found- and reactivated that phone to replace the newer drowned one . My drowned phone might revive again as more water evaporates from it. Who knows.

Might pay to check all the features, before reporting it as working.

a good mate of mine, dropped his android phone in the toilet, and spent ages dismantling it, and drying it with a heat gun, only to reassemble it, and find that the sim card slot wasn't working.
*sigh* it was a good phone too.

Only thing that's not working, as mentioned in another thread, is that it won't let me download apps...but I think that's because it's a new SD card it's using since it was last used. Or some other problem with the software... trying to fix it, but it's so frustrating...
