I hate when people tell me to look up what I need or want on Google. I mean, what are examples of effective search keywords if I, let's say, wanted to research political terms from a county other than my own? This applies to a lot of subjects. I struggle to use Google for anything.

And when people say the internet is so powerful in terms of what you can find on there, what is a list of things you can find on there?

Slightly off-topic:
Google is not your friend; they spy on users and probably sell the data.

Use startpage.com or ixquick.com

On-topic:

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "political terms," but type in:

political terms in x - y
x is your state
y is your county

I know, right? I hate when people tell me, "Google it." I feel stupid after being told that. :P :?

isn't their business motto "Don't be evil"? call me paranoid, but anyone who has to state that explicitly immediately sets off my alarm bells.

I am guilty of saying this. it gets so annoying when someone asks what a word means or what is something. Uh look it up. Or when people ask who a person was when their name is mentioned. Look it up. I had a guy who wanted me to explain everything to him and he wouldn't look it up and I would post links to him and he would claim he wasn't able to click them and he wanted me to tell him everything. He wouldn't even look up sexual terms either and would ask me to explain them to him and I told him to look it up and he would go "no I am just a little boy, too dirty for me." Why the hell did he ask me then? This was the same guy who was always calling me arrogant and being clingy and he turned out to be a creep and very manipulative. I was always giving him the benefit of the doubt which can be a problem for me because then people can keep walking all over me and using me.

But yeah I try to look stuff up first and then I ask if I still don't understand or don't find my answer. Whenever I see a name of a person or celebrity, I look it up to see who they were before I ask so I don't look stupid. This other guy didn't even want to try and he wanted me to explain stuff to him only to say he is too immature for that and he was a 30 year old grown man living by his mom's rules and he was living on his own and according to him, he was not allowed to go to dirty sites. Pathetic. I told him he was an adult and he could do what he wants now and not live by his mom's rules. But he kept insisting he was just a little boy. I didn't like his role playing either. Another reason why I finally ditched him. I also think it was all part of his game so he can get aroused.

I don't know what your situation is when you want to look something up but when I tell someone to look it up or google it, it's over simple things like "What's asperger's" "Who's Justin Beiber" "what's a 69 position?" and I do post them links so they can read it so I wouldn't have to explain it. People have done the same for me too, post me a link when I would ask what something is because it didn't cross my mind to google it. But I am getting better now at remembering.

One reason to ask people a question is because you trust that their opinion or advice will be good. When you use Google to "ask" the question, you have no idea whether the information you find is at all reliable.

Warning, sarcastic rant. If you don't like this kind of humor, don't read on.

Google is your friend. Really? Like I really didn't know that! I could have looked up the answer on google, but I decided to ask you instead. So why can't you tell me the answer? Are you that lazy or mean, or perhaps you don't know it? I hate it when people tell me that. Google is your friend. If I wanted to google it, I would have f****** googled it!! Maybe I wanted your perception or opinion on what you thought the answer was? Has that ever creeped into your brain? Or maybe I just wanted to keep talking and to keep on the present topic, and to verify that you and I agree on what that answer is - no that's it - the voices in my head would tell me the answer, right? But no. Google is your friend, and while I'm looking up the answer on google, spiders and web crawlers are going to give me ads of stuff that I am not interested in, all because of your not wanting to answer! And by the time I look up the f****** answer, the topic will change, and it won't matter anymore! Just tell me the f****** answer already!! ! Oh s*** the topic changed while I ranted. Now what are we talking about?

If you read this far, I'm not insane or angry. It was a comedy rant, similar to what George Carlin might have said on this. I hope you enjoyed it. :-)
