I view a lot of links in non-English text. With IE I was able to highlight the text and the dropdown had an auto translate feature. Firefox has not that I can find? Any suggestions other than pasting the complete text into a new tab with a translator page?

Google Chrome has the ability to automatically translate a web page. The gap between IE and FF is not as big as it used to be (the former is at least better than Opera and Safari these days).

I have jumped back and forth between Chrome , and IE for a couple of years but always went back to IE. Finally jumped full splash into FF when talk spread to abandon IE earlier this week. I have never liked Chrome, no matter how many times I have tried it, it just doesn't fit me. Am starting to finally get the reins on FF and actually like it, but I do a lot of translating and this is becoming tedious.

There are what is called addins in Firefox. Tools>addons> type translate in the search box
Ones of those appears to do what you did in IE. Read each add-in and find one you like than install it.

switched from IE to Firefox, noiw what

Now you enjoy the benefits of a more secure and stable browser :D I'd look into Google Chrome as it's superior to Firefox (because Ice weasel is a resource hog, even on Linux) ...

Both Firefox and Chrome are still superior to that piece of s**t joke of browser that Microsoft had stolen from Netscape, but still can't seem to properly code XD

I just noticed while dealing with the add ons that Google translate is already listed in there, I just have to figure out how to implement it when I need it.

You can PM me any FFX questions you might have, here we are at version ~31 and I've been bug reporting since 1.6!

The great thing about firefox (when they stop messing about with the user interface) is all the add-ons available. Whatever you want there is likely an add-on for it.

I too have been a user of FireFox for quite some time. Never cared for Chrome and only time I used Internet Exploder was on Microsoft's site. For the last year or so I have been running WaterFox now. So far all of the add-ons for FireFox work just fine. But WaterFox is wicked fast! You have to be running a 64bit version of windows on a 64bit machine but it now takes care of 95% of my browsing duties. Try it you might just like it. Oh and you can leave FireFox on the machine as well, they won't interfere with one another. They WILL share add-ons and also all of your bookmarks setup in FireFox along with the complete layout will be in place when you use WaterFox. Here is the website if you are interested in giving it a go:

The other great thing is that the whole codebase exists independently of and accessibly within Firefox: type about:config in your urlbar & promise not to void your 'warranty' if you're curious.
