Sony Portable DVD Player (Unlocking Regions)

I want to unlock one. I realise that since it's a Sony, it's best not to get hopeful. But anyway...it is a DVP-FX875. I've tried this, but it doesn't work.

Are you sure that hack and the alternative they posted doesn't work? I've used similar advice and successfully hacked five different DVD players using tech forum posts like the one in your link -- they seem to be pretty reliable.

It can be tricky, though, to do everything at the right time in the right sequence. I'm sure I've hacked a Sony player successfully, so if I'm not mistaken it can be done. Give it another try.
