sorry again for asking for help here, I've been trying to rip some CDs to my computer and it won't seem to work: it just keeps saying it can't rip the CD, I did a google search to try and find an answer but can't find one that works.

Most of the "included" software on computers does not allow capturing music from CDs or "ripping" tracks. Aftermarket software typically has this feature. I'm not sure if Windows MediaPlayer does it or not anymore.

Yes, what OS?

I have used many rippers. One of my favorites was CDEx. You can get CDEx to download titles. Not sure I remember, but it wasn't that hard. At some point you have to enter an email, I just use [email protected].

But then I found out that if I rip with whatever the built-in ripper that Microsoft includes with Windows 7, the ripper goes out on the internet, downloads the titles, and downloads an album picture. Then, when I take the files to my 2013 Toyota with an "Entune" system, the album picture shows up on the display. That won't happen with CDEx. I can't remember if its is Windows Media Center or Windows Player.

I believe VLC Player can rip too; the advantage to VLC being is that is free, open source, and does not have any of that malware spyware dupeware cr@p like OpenCandy.

sorry I was a bit agitated when I posted the original post (because I can't rip the CDs LOL) anyway, the operating system is Windows 8 and windows media player (the one for this edition) does have the feature to rip, it just won't work. I did try and google it but goty some info about a certain menu where you can change the location which is saves (or something like that) I couldn't get into it (I clicked but nothing happening) in the setting there was an option to start the rip automatically, I got an error saying it couldn't apply it

Maybe try and see if a different or paid ripping program works.

I use iTunes to rip my CD's to my computer. You can download it for free from Apple's website and you don't have to have an iPod to use it. All you have to do is install it, open it, insert the CD you want to rip, and it will ask if you would like to import your CD into iTunes. You can even select certain tracks if you don't want the whole album. It works great on my Windows Vista Home Premium desktop system. I like having a shuffle of my library playing while I am on my desktop. :)
