Okay, here's a question for you guys. Remember that movie, "The Net"? What kind of job was it that Sandra Bullock's character had, where she was able to work out of her home, and what kind of training would a person need to be able to do it? I know it's computer stuff, but that's about it.

A degree in Computer Engineering should get you in the right direction. Requires a lot of Math (Calculus), Physics and IT classes, should be no problem for an Aspie brain. :D

I have to work from home for a number of reasons. I can't cope in an office or not working alone. Even a psychiatrist guy said don't work in open plan offices.

Same here. That's why I'm thinking of a career change. Thanks for the input, guys!

I'm a semi-retired freelance writer. I've only published once, and I would like to do something that will at least produce a more steady income. But with my mathematical challenges, I don't know if I can study for a degree in computer science

There are IT degrees that are not math intensive. Most programming is not highly dependent on understanding more than basic math. But not having the abstract ability to
do higher math might indicate having difficultly with programming but maybe not. Take
one computer class at a local college such as c++. If you hate it forgot about programming if you like it you can still work in IT :)

not so long ago I read some jobs that didn't require lots of interaction, but don't remember the URL.

So far I remember that Graphic Design was in the list, and so far (I'm studying it) looks like there's not so much interaction

what interests do you have? maybe that'll give us a clue

well, I like art, working with color, etc. Writing is also my strong point. I remember a good friend once explaining his work to me, going on about pixels, adobe, etc. It was fascinating to me. He has since passed on, unfortunately.

I just remembered that I read about it on a book, it had some personality types (INTP was mine),

here's a link with a list of jobs
http://www.bsu.edu/students/careers/art ... 60,00.html

do a google search for Myers-Briggs Test

don't remember if I used this test
