my current setup is 2 computers, a ps3 and a psp is connected on a wireless network with both WPA-PSK and access control enabled.
the network is hosted by a Netgear WGR614 v6 router with V2.0.14 firmware (i know the earlier firmware was a little buggy)
This morning i was not able to connect to my wireless network and after looking i found that
1)the wireless network card was disabled in device manager (on both computers)
2)the WPA key must of been changed because the MAC keys on the access control wasn't changed and i kept being denied access from my network
so i decided to use a cable to connect to my router and changed the WPA key whist i was at it i found that the log on the router was cleared as well.
I am not asking for a fix because my network is working fine now but what i am asking is what would of caused this error (is there a more logical and probable thing to say than someone decided to penetrate 3 firewalls and disable my networking cards just to annoy the hell out of me  )

also is there any other logs within win2000 or xp that would tell me more about what happened

btw i did scan my PC for Trojans and other malware and found nothing yet but i do know that does not necessarily mean my PC is clean.

In my office network, wireless cards often get disabled randomly, and I have reported the problem to the OEM. Most likely is that you had a power surge/brown out and it caused the router to dump all the info. Or, there is a setting (there is on mine) that makes you reestablish a connection every X amount of days by default. Worst case, someone was attacking the network, and it was smart and closed all ports and connections.
