If I have a 5 DIN female that needs to go into a standard 1/4 inch jack (PL) which cable should I use or alternatively which adapter and where to buy/what are my best options?

(ordering from eBay is also okay with me)

I would appreciate advice. Thanks.

What is each end going to plug into?

I've seen 5-pin DIN used for everything from computers to MIDI to quadraphonic. Oh, and of course car stereos and equalizers. Here a some of the possible pin outs just for standard stereo (which is what I assume you are after due to the 1/4-inch plug):

(from the source of all obscure pin-outs, pinouts.ru - they've saved my circuits dozens of times)

Also 5-pin DIN comes in a few configurations, it'll help to know which one you want:

Thanks man,

Oh, I just noticed that I am supplied with a converter like this when I purchased the item from eBay. it wasn't for MIDI but was for a power unit. :) ty Eden
