So...now that you've been eaten by Google and are churning around in it's stomach you've decided to learn scripting, Otaku?

Perhaps, I am getting more curious and with a code being like a language it is piqing my curiosity even more.

Well, I'd recommend sticking with Javascript until you completely understand it (could take a while, we're all different at learning speed). It's about the easiest language to understand and the conventions you learn can be applied to multiple different languages if you decide to continue and learn something more complex. Not to mention Javascript is very marketable right now. Anyhow, you're at the right place, if you have a programming question there's probably 100 people here that want to answer first and flash their "nerd" badge, lol. Good luck. :D

I started out with BASIC, FORTRAN, and assembly-based languages for Intel's 80xx, Motorola's 68xx, and Zilog's Z80 microprocessors back when 64k of total memory put severe constraints on the size of your programs, and when if you could eke out another 1k of free space, you were the Hero Of The Week.
