I just got a new laptop which I will be paying off for a long while. It took some searching but I finally found one with the right price, specs, and with XP Pro instead of Vista. I don't want to open that can of worms for at least a year. It is a Leveno 3000 and I am really happy with it.

Core Duo 1.86Ghz
1GB of RAM
120 GB hard drive
15.4" wide screen monitor

Windows XP Pro

AOpen AK77-8X Max mobo
Athlon XP 2400+ processor
1Gb RAM (DDR 333 various combos)
Creative SB Live! 5.1 (so I don't have to use the AC'97 onboard)
550w PSU - (borrowed from housemate since my old one failed)
Sapphire Radeon X1650 Pro 256Mb AGP - recently bought for £89.99 in PC-World, most likely the last upgrade I will manage for this machine with current mobo.

Its all kept nice and shiny in a pretty Chieftec DX-01GND case.

I'm using my moms dimension 2400: Celeron 2.4
256MB DDR.
Intel Intergrated Grafx.

What i plan on building if i ever get the cash: E4300 or E6400 Core 2 Duo.
2GB OCZ DDR2 800.
A decent P965 mobo for OCing if i can find something better than a ABIT AB9 Pro.
ASUS X1950Pro or eVGA 8800GTS.

I can't buy off newegg so i'm very limited on options...

Laptop:
Hacked IBM Thinkpad 600E
702 MHz PIII (Yes, 702 MHz)
288 MB RAM (256 MB+32 MB onboard)
80 GB hard drive
Windows XP, SP1, and manually slimmed down.

Stationary:
Intel server motherboard in a random case.
500 MHz dual CPU PIII
512 MB RAM
20 GB and 40 GB HD's
Dual boot Windows XP SP2/FreeBSD 6.1

I also have several machines in pieces, and three (!) Sparc boxes that I'm not using. I'm getting broadband soon. (About time, eh?) And when I do, I'll buy a new big HD set up one of them to run as a server for web, FTP, torrents, etc.

I'm using these two mostly. The laptop mostly for games and personal stuff and the desktop more for working, creative stuff and music.

Laptop:
Dell Inspiron e1705
- T7200 2GHz Core 2 Duo CPU
- 2 GB of RAM
- NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS (256 Mb RAM)
- 100 GB 7200 RPM drive
- 17-inch WUXGA display
- Windows XP Media Center edition (which I don't like - I'm planning to reinstall with XP Pro and possibly dual-boot Vista if I'm feeling adventurous).

Desktop:
Shuttle SB81P (XPC small form factor)
- 3 GHz P4 HT CPU
- 1 GB of RAM
- NVidia GeForce 7800 GT (256 Mb RAM)
- 120 GB Hard Drive
- Dell 24-inch widescreen LCD
- Windows XP Pro

I have 3 more old computers but I hardly use them (another Shuttle, an Apple G4 PowerMac and an ancient PowerComputing PowerMac Clone (anyone remember those?).
