I don't know about you but, despite their obvious dominance, I don't think that Google is that great.

I'm tired of their tactics, forcing G+ s**t, the endless YouTube username fiasco, forced linking of their products, etfvckingcetera.....

They won the race early by focusing on speed, but go to page 2 and any relevancy is gone.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

True, though it hasn't caught up to Yahoo yet.

It is my default engine, though Google is lapping it for now.

I used AltaVista a little in the distant past for no reason other than I was new to the Internet and didn't know any better at the time. I've been trying to use Bing lately now that I'm using Windows as my primary OS, so it makes sense, but Google still is #1 for me.

Google is a good search engine, but others are worthwhile too. I tend to use either Google or DuckDuckGo.

DuckDuckGo and Startpage are just as good as Google, if not better.

I use Google for inertia purposes.

Yeah, I've been using Startpage aka Ixquick(in the EU) for prob. 7+ years.

It uses Googles engine though.

It may be a minority opinion but even if Goog is best of breed, I still don't think that it is very good.

I think Search has a LONG ASS way to go :!:

I am all in on Google. I also use Bing, but not as often. It's full of crap, lots of junk on the pages. Yahoo isn't much better either.

I realize I'm way-late to the party, but no one suggested my favorite SE, so I thought I'd add it: Ask.com. I don't like the font on Google----let alone, all the other mess. I use Google Images, exclusively, though.

Like many have stated Google is good but has a long way to go like for example your search results do not include answers that are inside apps.

I use DuckDuckGo for most things, I will revert to Google if it's a rather niche search.

However, IF I'm using Google, I use a VPN to connect via another country and use a fresh browser and then wipe it when I'm done. I don't want Google stalking me.
