What kind of hard drive does it have?

The latest versions of MFM drives had their own BIOS that included its own disc formatting commands.

What do you plan to do with this computer?
The BIOS is irrelevant to formatting a hard disk. You can create/delete partitions from within Windows or the Windows setup. Or if you prefer, you can boot a Linux distro from a CD and use tools from that to format your drive.
