I am trying to record a video with a webcam and a microphone, but the sound and vision are not synchronized. How do I solve it?

If you can either "rip" the "soundtrack" from the video, you can recombine the sound and sights so they're in sync.

If you happen to have one of those MP3-players or other pocket device that can "double" as a dictaphone, you might want to conceal that somewhere near the speaker/sound sources to get a better sound recording. Afterwards you just add the audio to the video and "slide" them time-wise until they seem in sync.

Just to make the job of sync'ing easy, begin your video recordings by clapping your hands so that it registers on both audio and video -- it's like a poor-man's version of the "clap tree" they use in the movie industry...

What program are you using?

Try Stoik capturer (freeware):

Records and also converts to a suitable format (I recommend Windows Media 9 for maximum compatibility)

There's also Virtualdub, but not too friendly.

In Windows, there's Windows Movie Maker, included in XP. A little bit ugly, but can separate audio and video.

use a slate and match the video of the thing closing with the snap sound.
