Laptop dying?

Hello, I am a cybertwit and very sorry to bother you. My laptop is freezing, first with Facebook and now with any click on a website that says "Click here" or something similar. Landing pages still work fine; anything inside freezes.

My laptop is HP ENVY dv6.

I googled the problem and tried the Flash cure, which worked once but not again.

Is the laptop too full, should I delete things, like pics?

Please, please, advise?

Delete all "temporary Internet files."

Thanks, but I do that at least once a day. Plus every time I go to the bank.
I just did it again but the problem persists, not only FB but random other sites.

Is it freezing, and then a few seconds later, the page is fine? If so, it could just be your browser. I have Firefox, and it does it, sometimes----the cursor / mouse freezes; you can do absolutely NOTHING until it gets over its little "spell" (a few seconds); you just have to wait until your pointer reappears.

It works! I found another way to erase temp memory. I wish I could tell you where it was. It wasn't Internet Options (which is the one I've been using all along). Presumably, my bank info has been sitting there in plain sight all along. I'll have to try to find what I found.

Anyway, I am liberated, nothing freezes on my screen, for which I thank you!

Thank you. Now my browser is Firefox. All my websites want passwords, which I seem not to have, because they're in Chrome. I struggled through that and finally convinced Facebook that I am me, and that I have forgotten my p/w. and they e-mailed me something which I did correctly and ... ! It says come back in 24 hours. Will do.
