Y'know, like the ones we see in video games like:

But there's still a question I have in mind: What advantages would a racing hovercraft have over a race car?

The extra dimension, up/down, adds an extra level of complexity that may make races more exciting.

It also makes it harder to protect the spectators--one can't discount the importance of bringing in money to run the races. I doubt you can run races just on TV revenue if you have competition from races with large crowds willing to pay lots of money to see it in person.

Hi, TBA!! !! :bounce: :compress: :bounce: :compress: :bounce:

When I was a teen I built a few small and one almost-person-carrying ACV's. Driving them is nothing like a car due to near frictionless inertia compared to boats and cars. The driver really has to set up their moves ahead of time and plan them.

With future (non air-cushion) craft I'd assume that if they can repel gravity, they can also control side motion. Which would mean the driver would have to plan ahead and actually choose a point between frictionless drift and the equivalent to high friction resistance to drift, and make that choice continuously. Throw in variable height and inertia in that dimention and things might really get complex. Could be quite exciting!! !
