A couple of weeks ago, I installed one of those AOL 9.0 disks you get in the mail with the 2 months free trial period. It was free, alright....freed me from the ability to access my computer at all. I could only get as far as the ME intro screen and there, I was stuck and no amount of F8 or whatever would unlock it. I called in the troops, hence, my uncle who's a genuine computer geek and can resurrect a dead computer like lazarus. (I know, I know, but not everybody with AS is a tech hound.) He told me that the 9.0 is written badly and he's had many folks who've come to him and other repairman with the same problem.
It might work well, that is, if the computer's brand new but other than that, it's a bad deal. My uncle, when fixing the computer, had to reinstall everything in order to get rid of the malfunction and any saved files I had were lost. So the moral is.....I'll say it again, Do Not use AOL 9.0 on your computer for any reason, not even if they offer you free service for ten years. I'm going to take the three AOL disks I have and use them..............as target practice at the shooting range.
