There's actually quite a lot of evidence that human civilization, not just humanity as a species, is far older than the mere 5000 years generally attributed to "modern" civilization. Douglas Kenyon's '
Forbidden History' is a good place to start, for a look at the type of empirical evidence that is simply ignored because it doesn't fit the academically popular paradigm.
