In this thread, we talk about prehistoric creatures that would make good pets.

I nominate Casea. I like it.

What about Cynognathus? I's love to have one of these! ^-^

I know not technically prehistoric, but many extinct Livebearers. A Carolina parakeet would be cool

When I was a kid I thought that dodo birds were kinda cute.

Not "prehistoric" in the usual sense. But extinct.

I also like temnospondyls.

Nowadays, we just have boring old lissamphibians. Lame.

Very cool thread, conceptually!

It never occurred to me.

Never thought about fossil critters that way before.

I had two fossil trilobites on the coffee table once. Bought them in a curiosity shop in Provincetown. Imagine a pair of overgrown wood lice the size of hamsters, but made of sandy stone.

Keeping live ones as pets in a fish tank might have been cool.

Even better would be to have one of those dragonflies with a two foot wingspan from the Carboniferious Epoch.

It could perch on your shoulder while you take in on walks.
