Yeah, so now I'm stuck using this temporary profile where I have access to almost nothing. I've been following steps to get my profile back by using an administrator login, but it needs a password. I don't remember giving it one. I don't think I ever did and nothing works. I used a restore point which got everything back but only temporarily because my computer needed to restart to finishing installing updates and here I am back where I started.

What are my options? Is it possible to just take this computer to a shop and let a professional handle it instead of me touching it? Because I feel this is one of things where if I keep trying, it's going to blow up. I don't want to deal with a customer support hotline.

Well we've done all we could but this problem has fought us back as much as we've tried to fight it. Our only option is to keep this restore point permanent by putting the computer in sleep mode when it's not in use. This'll piss dad off since he's not happy that it won't be shut down during the night anymore. If we do shut it down, I lose everything and I get sent back to the temporary account. I've received no reply on how to fix this mess. Is there no way to roll back the update that ruined by PC? I go into Windows Update, it wants me to restart the computer. I'm not doing that.
