Is iPhone 11 much better? Or iPhone 8, iPhone XMax or whatever it called.

I have used both and strongly prefer iphone 8. I miss the button and don't like swiping up, down and around, because it does not work 100% of the time, whereas the button always works. However other people tell me they love the iphone 11 and point out, correctly, that Android is the same (no button). The logic is that you get more real estate on the screen. I say just use a desktop, if you're out and about deal with a smaller screen. But I would say I am in the minority.

I did some research recently, thinking I had to get a new phone. It looked to me the 11 was what I wanted, but that is because I wanted the better quality camera.

But I can’t see spending $1000 on a phone.

I currently have an iPhone 7s, which I only grudging bought because my 6s finally died. I hate going to a larger phone. I don’t want to be carrying around such a big phone...anything 8 and up.

I also don’t want to be without the button.

So I ended up not buying anything.

Yay! Finally someone agrees with me about the button.
I had both 7 and 8 and do not really perceive much diff in their size. If you have a case for the 7, it will fit the 8.

My company gives me a phone once a year so I don't have to buy, but if I did, I wouldn't. I mean I would buy a used phone and replace the sim card with a Tracfone sim card.

If you really want a good camera, I would say just buy a digital camera, but again I'm very much in the minority on that issue. I know amateur photographers that prefer to phone to the digital camera due to mobility...and ease of sharing. I have been told that phones take good enough pictures. This is probably so for most common purposes. I honestly can't think of any purpose I would have that would require a digital camera, but you may.

^ I take pictures of my plants and also on canoe trips. Also some of my clients like me to take their pictures and then they get a thrill out of it.

I went on a five day canoe trip and took my husbands expensive digital camera and when the batteries died, I used my iPhone and the latter took better quality photos than the fancy digital.

I've heard that too, that's what the amateur photographer said, that the phones take better pics in some cases. I don't know what to say, I'm old-fashioned and like the feel of a proper camera. Somehow the phone does not feel right. But that's probably all stuff and nonsense and already, digital camera manufacturers are curtailing both models and new features, they are pretty much throwing in the towel.

I like film cameras. That’s what feels real to me. I still have a couple of SLRs hanging around.

I remember when a Polaroid camera that popped out pictures that developed in a few seconds was a big deal. This was in the 1970s-1980s, before the advent of digital cameras.

I thought I would miss the home button, but gesture controls work great, they are the same on iPhones as they are on my OnePlus 7 Pro android phone. You get used to the gesture controls real quick. The entire front of my phone is all screen and no bezels whatsoever which makes for a much better media viewing experience.

The iPhone 11 has a really good camera, it has improved a lot over previous iPhones, especially in low light photography. The iPhone SE is alright if you don't got much money, its got the same chip in the iPhone 11 which is the fastest on the market, but it's battery is a bit s**t. Note that the iPhone 11 doesn't have touch ID and it's Face ID doesn't work with a mask.

Face ID never works with masks.

They have to perfect the fingerprint technology in order for it to be viable within iPhones.

Modern iPhones are powerful enough for any task. Consider design only. Which one do you like better?
