Astronomers have found several unexplained faint circular features in the sky, visible only to radio telescopes. It isn't yet known what causes these "Odd Radio Circles", or even how far away they are. The first three ORCs were discovered in a very small area of sky, which implies that they're pretty common. Thoughts? (One comment in New Scientist speculated that it might be a phenomenom similar to a rainbow, in which case the cause is on the other side of the sky!)

How could it be "like a rainbow"?

Rainbows are caused by rain drops in the sky acting as a million tiny prisms in the sky defracting visible light.

These circles in interstellar (or they could even be in intergalactic) space are radio, and not visible light. But radio is just another form of light (electro magnetic radiation). So I guess that it could be.

So they would have to be caused by some kinda stuff diffused in space that is defracting radio waves. The source of the radio waves being defracted might be the background microwave radiation from the Big Bang thats out there in the backdrop of the whole universe in every direction. So I guess there are some kind of prismlike objects scattered in space that defract microwaves into radio. They wouldnt have to be clear glass-like prisms. They could be opaque chunks of ice or rocks that are prism shaped of the right size to defract the wavelengths of microwave.
