I am currently at the Sunnyvale
Border's. It is way too small
for a Border's. I have found
a limited and sometimes
disturbing selection of books
on Autism. The book that
I didn't refer to Completely
advocated meds as a solution.
Hmmmmmm
right!! !! !! Uh! Uh! Grrrrr

Why?
"Anything that is likely to increase
the probability of a desired behavior
occuring again can be used as a
reinforcer"
2)...The how and when tactic
to start: "continuous reinforcement
is the best way to go"
=jump starts process
to finish: "When the patient
begins to constantly perform

is likely to be very emotionally sensitive"
• "tearup" or "weep" from songs and
media stuff(commercials were used as
a example).
• Obsess on negative topics(news story
used as a example for this).

Why?
• will shut you out gradually if what you
say is taken literally!
2)...Hmmm? "Meltdowns"
• "Inability to communicate"
• "pain discomfort"
• "mental shutout"

The World of the Autistic
child-Understanding and treating
Autistic Spectrum Disorder"
Author: Bryna Siegel
Topic: ASD
A beginning quote:
"parents of children with autistic spectrum
disorders [autism and pervasive developmental
disorders] do not in general, have a high
opinion of professionals. "
&
"Parents rapidly recognise whether a professional
worker really knows anything about autism-and
they tend to find most do not"
This is the introduction 1st paragraph.
Hmmmm? do you folks agree with this?
Hmmmm?
About the Author: Bryna Siegel, PH,D
1)...12 years working with autistic kids
and consulting parents.
Why was this book difficult to write?:
All the children were different!
Types of children the author worked with:
no developmental disorders
and......
with developmental disorders
along with....
• personality differencials
• temperment differencials
• learning differencials
Questions in the one fits all
theories:
• where does the personality intercede?
• where does the autism intercede?

As I am writing this in the cramped
cafe at this teeny Borders 2 girls
NT's are chatting as if this is a classroom
and I find the radio(really low, and there
chat is like a stereo system, and to further
this they have just returned....Please forgive
the sloppiness of this document, it is due
to girllish(NT) gossip and chatter interferance
distracting me
[quote="Chapter #1, Definitions of.....
Beginning Paragraph:
"Autism is a developmental disorder that
affects many aspects of how a child sees
the world and learns from his or her
experiences. Children with autism
lack the usual desire for social contact.
The attention and approval of others
are not important to them in the usual
way. Autism is not an absolute lack of
desire for affiliation, but a relative one."
Sorry I cannot finish this in this cramped
space. A child is just now crying, the girls
are chatting and the audio is too obvious.
I AM TOO DISTRACTED TO EVEN f*****g
GIVE YOU A CLEAN REVIEW!
