Hey, I was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about the next iPod that's coming out. I know they combined iPod photo and the 4th gen, but I'm wondering if they're going to change anything else about the 5G.

I recently had my 3G stolen (I know, it was the saddest moment of my life), and I really just can't STAND the buttons on the 4th generation. I really miss the touch pads, and I've been trying to get another one off Ebay, but I'm just not sk1ll3d enough.

Any info on the next iPod would be great!

Thanks a lot!

Video maybe? But every time they change the generation of the ipod, they change things at the processor level which means that projects like ipodlinux have to do more work.

I'm waiting for one that would feature a solid-state 'flash' memory (like is used in the iPod Shuffle) with a 40+ GB capacity.

Conventional hard drives do eventually wear out. The ones in the iPod generally see constant, heavy, rugged use and this, with zero moving parts, could be a far more durable long-term option.

BTW, I also like the touch-pads on my 3rd Gen iPod.
