I have not had any of the following brands work for more than 12 months:

Netgear
Belkin
Linksys

However they have all worked fine for the 12 months before they sponteniously broke.

They are cheap, I don't mind paying 40 bucks every 12 months.

Not as bad as the Belkin, and not as good as the Linksys.

As far as I know, Linksys is part of Cisco Systems, but more home-oriented

Linksys is Cisco Systems Consumer porducts division. Cisco Systems acquired Linksys in late 2002 or early 2003. Linksys really isn't Cisco in the fact that you have limited functionality, but then again, a tech support call to Linksys won't have a base price of $70, either.
