Let's get ready to rumble!
Which fighting series do you like best. Note: I excluded sports-based fighting games like Ready to Rumble and Raw vs. Smackdown because those are not really "fighting" games and are actually based on sports. I also excluded games like Urban Reign and Yi-Ar Kung Fu because those aren't series.

I like the 2D Capcom fighting games, especially the Street Fighter games. I also really enjoyed Darkstalkers and Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Vs. Capcom, etc. I also liked the Samurai Shodown games. I'm not as fond of fighting games that have a block button. I prefer the ones where you just pull back on the joystick and it goes into a defensive stance.

I enjoy playing Halo on multiplayer with friends. If you were talking about fighting like strict fighting or punching/kicking/wrestling (something not like Halo), I've liked playing Kabuki Warriors and Super Smash Brothers, which were pretty cool.

3D I like Soul Caliber most. 2D I like Street Fighter most.

I also like Virtua Fighter and Tekken.

I'm pretty ignorant on games in general but I watch my roommate play Guilty Gear sometimes and that seems to be fairly sophisticated compared to most fighting games I've seen.
