I'm quite interested in building a website with comic books for download. I'm looking for software experts to explain something to me.
I don't understand why CBR is used. Wouldn't PDF be better? I'm thinking of setting things up so the viewer can go panel by panel or page by page. It was a hassle to download and use the CBR software. I think it would be easier to use Adobe.

One reason that comes to mind immediately is that PostScript / PDF are better suited for vector graphics (well-rendered text, tables, diagrams, mathematical drawings, etc.), where comics are typically raster images. Storing a bunch of bitmap images in a PDF is inefficient.
