Does anyone else have this obsession?

I like to know the Latin names of all the living things I encounter, especially animals (both vertebrates and invertebrates). I like to look at pictures of animals and try to identify them (especially reptiles).

Count me as one; I'm also particularly interested in herps as well. I even took classes in Latin and Greek at the university level so I could get a better understanding/ability of working with the nomenclature.

I used to have a slight taxonomy obsession, but not to the point of know all the latin names for animals I saw.

That was a long time ago, though.

I know a great deal of arthropods, but entomology has been an obsession of mine for a while. I would like to know more, especially botanical names.

Taxonomy is an element of by Evolutionary Biology and Phylogeny (evolutionary relationships, evolutionary trees, and all that) obsession. This obsession has been heating up again recently because the phylogeny and taxonomy of bacteria and protozoans is starting to settle down after 2 decades of taxonomic chaos triggered by getting phylogenies based on comparing DNA, RNA, and protein sequence, the results are very interesting.

I used to have a slight liking for taxonomy but that was with the phyla and some of the orders really. I soon lost interest due to lack of resources of info though.
