I know it's "Download This Video" feature it's good, but I really think you shouldn't download that because it can slow down your computer and probably even put viruses and spyware on your computer. (even if you have protection for it, they can go past through it, I probably already ruined 2 computers downloading RealPlayer 11).

good call, but man, trying to avoid downloading it is something. I've been told (can't confirm this, so if someone knows, sing out) that the newest version searches for illegal downloads, and deletes them (now how that would work, I dunno..maybe digital watermarks?)

I've managed to hold the line at version 9, but it took a lot of Googling to get it.

I use VLC Media Player for everything... much more versatile, no malware, and completely free.

I also use VLC Player, for the reasons mentioned above. I would never, ever let Realplayer be installed on my computer. Keep that ad-supported bloated crapware away.

i just redid my whole computer and usually when i update real player i have to sign up again
using my same name and password i made like 4 years ago
so i always gotta remember that
this one just upgraded with nothing annoying like that

PLUS
i have my friends ipod nano
he thought it was broken and i just know better, haha
real player lets me add songs on there so i dont need itunes which i despise for some reason

i would never use it as my default player but i like it still

Well, It had been reconfirmed as blacklist malware/spyware/adware so, I would avoid it at all cost, no matter what version. Does anyone know of a good meida player that is not WINAMP? Some of us do not have cash on hand......!

The best ones usually look dumb
but I think that's because they don't mess around with ads and useless skins and flashy garbage

If it doesn't work with VLC
there's something wrong with the file :D

great program I think
http://www.videolan.org/

it looks so basic but it does so much

You can do that with Windows Media Player 11.

Oh Forgot, Realplayer is at least better and less glitch prone on Windows than Quicktime.[QuickTime likes to Associate itself with all Media Files known to man.]

I absolutely despise both RealPlayer and QuickTime, but RealPlayer is certainly worse. QuickTime is actually manageable if you change a lot of default values.

It's amazing how this kind of thing can get so popular. Kazaa was really popular for some time. AIM is still so popular that unless I use a third-party client to connect the their servers, I might as well not even bother with Instant Messaging. But RealPlayer is probably worse than both of those.
