Hello. I have a question: Is there a FREE software that I can use to download DVDs that I own to my computer and convert them to a type of file my Zune can use? I wish to put DVDs on my Zune 30, so I can watch them anytime I want.

try DVDx.

from http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdx/

you can rip DVD's to WMV's which (according to the specs) should play on your zune.

I used it for a similar purpose, but that was to stick Stargate Episodes on my iRiver so I could watch them during commute. Takes a bit of fiddling, because it is a bit of an unpolished OS project. But they output is reasonable. Nothing commercial standard to watch on a big screen HDTV but definitely good enough for a zune.

Have you tried Handbrake? It's useful for converting DVD to Zune format. It's also supported on Vista, XP Leopard and Linux. Handbrake
