a narrow base of gait

I want to rewrite this as a point in my summative (NOT copying, rewriting into my own words), but I need to know what it means first

it sounds to me they are referring to how wide or far apart the person uses their leg from other leg. a narrow base of gait it sounds to me would be like a cat on a ledge (heel to toe, heel to toe)compared to how a heavyset person would walk (feet farther apart)

if still unsure, maybe you could call an orthopedics specialist

awwww thanks,

now reason why this hapens if you notice the walking habits of people with prosthetics, becuase being theres no nerves (in basic legs) or muscles (other then the motors and the shock absorber that replaces the shin bone) they have no feeling of were the foot lands so when they walk with a narrow gait and hurry up and get the real leg in front of it while walking they ensure they are not goig to fall over (but evnetually the person gets used to leg depending on what level the real one was amputated and if they really practice it would be hard to tell if they are using prothetics other then hearing a click or seeing the ankle (some basic legs they dont have a rubber human like ankle)

hope this gives a better explaination to the connection with prothetics and the walking habits of them

well... very highly advanced prosthetics that are still in early / mid stage trials have the ability to connect to the severed nerves if connected early enough (within 12 hours of amputation) these legs can transmit pressure and temperature to the nerve endings just like a real leg!

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

Autism Speaks will NEVER speak for me

Wow, I'll put that in my handout! Do you have a link for that? (Sorry must have a reference for EVERYTHING, and online friend doesn't count sadly enough)
