As for the MSW vs. Mac thing, I compare it to shoes: Macs are like velcro shoes and MSW are shoes with shoelaces. Yes, they can get untied, or you can tie a knot, or a mean person can tie your shoelaces together, but better to know how to tie your shoelaces than have to walk around in velcro shoes.
Two things:- I discovered velcro shoes about two decades ago, and have not worn laced footwear since.
- I can think of no reason to use an OS I can't rewrite.
Currently Ubuntu, was Debian, Mandrake, SuSE, etc.
