Computers are for people who are too advanced to be stimulated by Television. :)

I'm the only person in the world who actually *uses* my exercise equipment, but leaves clothes and crap on the TV.

Computers are for letting me be free. I develop the mathematics, the computer does the arithmetic. It's a beautiful thing to see a modest PC do a trillion passes through an algorithm on a lazy afternoon.

Aaaahhh. :nerdy:

An abacus is for those who do not have RPN calculators! ;) Computers are good for banging one's head on when upset about deleting an entire physics lab.

To err is human. To really foul up requires a computer.

Computers are the perfect scape goat. You can say I did do the report. But the computer lost it some how. And the computer will never argue back.

For me I wish I could use my computer for online games. But im on dial up. Other than that spending time on a computer is much more interesting that any thing else I can think of doing when im home. I also surpose it is communication tool for me too. Even though I never seem to run into the same person twice on the internet. Or stay in the same place on the internet.

Books are for that too.

And well computers are also for people who, in their twenties, write like five year olds...except the handwriting is smaller.

Computers are for communications. That is, they switch and route data from where it is to where it needs to be. Without communications, a computer is just a box, and all it can do is, ummm, compute. That's useful but limited. But when it networks, suddenly a greater entity arises. And then we're really getting somewhere. Suddenly we've done for the transport of information what Ford did for transport of human beings 80 years ago. This great leap has touched our lives and rendered us more powerful and efficient in countless ways. This is what computers are all about.
