It seems that I am stuck signed in more than once on the chat room here and as much as I try to find the command to sign me off I can't find it. Help!! !

You need to register the name first, before you can kill a linkless connection to the chat. Try and register just as Twitch rather than Twitch_wp. You can do that with "/msg Nickserv Register <password>". Then, when that happens to you, you can type: "/msg Nickserv ghost Twitch <password>" and it will remove the linkless connection. FYI, a linkless connection is when the disconnection sequence is not sent to the server, so it assumes you are still there. It continues to attempt to send information to it, until it receives no response after a certain amount of time, and it severs the server-side connection.

There seems to be a bug in the perl CGI client, that when you close the window sometimes the CGI client continues running on the server. So the connection stays alive, and you can't get the nick back (unless it's been registered).

I told Alex about this bug but he didn't respond. I'm assuming that's because he was in such a rush to fix it the moment I told him about the error. ;)

The simple fix would just be to have the CGI client issue a quit command if the user has been idle for a period of time. Alas, this has a nasty side effect.

P.S. not bad for a 100th post eh?

Oh ... as I write this, the duplicate Twitchs are still connected to the IRC network (though they have been kicked from the chatroom itself, they're still taking up the nick).

The Twitch clone was removed. Thanks to whoever did this.
