Hi,

I got a Phillips 2Gb MP3 player for xmas, it is small and black and has a little screen. My problem is I cant stand listening to headphones for more than about 2 minutes, they make my mind feel sort of overwhelmed and tired. I can listen to music playing in a room just fine provided it is not blasting at me but headphones are another matter, being so close to my head.

Any suggestions? What could I do with this player?

Try using mp3 player speakers.

You should try different types of headphones, in-ear headphones could be a little overloading.
Also your MP3 player's equalization could be too over saturated, (if you look at the sound waves it turns spikes into fluffy thick bands, not good).

Thank you. I am thinking of using ear plugs and then putting ear phones on top. I seem to need a filter in my ears when I listen to music so close to my head.

I will be looking at different types of ear phones.

The only thing i could sugest would be to turn the volume down.

Me personally i like having the in ear phone so i can block everything out. I hate hearing everyone on the bus when im on my way to work.

Try getting a nice pair of computer speakers. Kinyo Speakers work fine for me.

Yes, 2Gb = 256MB
2GB = 2,097MB.
2,097MB can be seen as 2.097GB depending what it's being read by

No 2GB = 2000MB in metric so it is actually less because windows multiplies by 1024, the actual space on the mp3 player would be around 1.8GB when formatted.

Inner and outer headphones tend to make my ears hurt.

I am amused at the mini storm my mentioning the GB size of the player seems to have provoked. :D

But anyway. Thinking about speakers I can plug into the player, or maybe one of those docks with speakers.

No one EVER says 2 Gigabit unless it is to do with internet connections. So don't think you are smart or funny for trying to trick people. Its just LAME.

2 Gigabyte (You always say Gigabyte not gigabite when dealing with MP3 players) is 2,097MB as you said.

I use Z-2300 Logitech speakers with my MP3 player.... I'm still using a old school 20GB iRiver.
