What kind of technology could make nearsightedness a thing of the past? So many people have to wear glasses or contacts because of nearsightedness.

Honestly I've just grown used to wearing glasses. My glasses are now just a part of who I am and I don't even like the idea of contacts :P.

but on the subject. Laser eye surgery is kinda risky, but as time goes on technology and technics may improve enough for it to be a safe solution.

Run a search engine using the words lasik surgery.

My son had it done because he hated being tethered to his glasses or contact lens.

I've refused to have that surgery because when the world becomes visually too much, taking my glasses off is a coping strategy.
If my vision is blurry or fuzzy I don't have to notice all that's not perfect of reality.

My mother dislikes her high definition TV for that reason. She says she'd rather not be able to see everybody's warts.

However presently most nearsighted people aren't getting lasik surgery as it's pretty risky at the present. Technology would need to improve for it to become safe.

Its improved and lots of people have the surgery every day.

I know my son has no regrets. He's in his mid 30s and really glad he had it done before his wife and he started having kids else wise they wouldn't have had the extra money sitting around for it.

A couple people I worked with made a big thing about the surgery before and shortly after they had it
but once a couple months passed/ they had some distance from the experience they rarely volunteered that they've had it unless pressed.

People who have a favorable experience with anything are like that. They just get on with their life as if nothing happened.

If you go in for Lasik ask the dr. how many he does a day. Its like any surgery. If they only do a couple a year, be afraid.
If they do a few a month or week, proceed with caution.

There are doctors that so nothing but lasik surgery. If they created problems for their patients the doctors couldn't afford their malpractice insurance.

The transition to a grain based diet is what has caused widespread myopia.
Eliminate grains and we won't need a cure.

I don't mind having to wear contact lenses or glasses. I have been doing it since I was 7 years old and barely remember what life was like without having to.

A grains-based diet? Most of mankind is on a grains-based diet, and has been for thousands of years...but I reserve the right to be wrong...;)

Eat a diet high in fruits and veggies. Exercise and don't get too close to the TV.

But lasik surgury is risky though.
