If you're sick and tired of the nearly useless graphic EQ that Winamp ships with and want to use something a lot more useful, go to the Winamp site and download the VST Winamp Bridge plugin. Here's the link (It should be on the bottom of the page):

http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse.ph ... category=5

After you get that, get a free Parametric EQ plugin. I prefer the Paris EQ, as it's quite similar to that found on the Channel Strips of a Mixing Desk. Parametric EQ might be a bit less intuitive at first, however it's a much more useful and powerful form of frequency management. Here's the link:

This site is in French and has many VST plugins available. The one that you want is the Paris VST EQ 1.1 . After you have both downloaded, and the EQ plugin Unzipped, I suggest that you read the README file for the plugin if you are unfamiliar with Parametric Equalisation, as it will give you some basic knowledge of the operation.

You'll need to install the VST Winamp Bridge plugin. After it's installed, you will need to enable it by going into your Winamp Preferances Controls, and look for DSP/Effects under the Plugins tree.

Highlight the VST Host DSP plugin, and click on configure. A small box will appear and allow you to search for the EQ, or any other VST plugin and load it.

Here's another link for other free VST plugins:
