THe leTTers "C, H, T, V" only work if THey are CapiTalised. I remember THis Happening onCe before, iT was THe same leTTers exCepT I remember THe "g" was also affeCTed.

My quesTion is, How do I fix iT? IT is raTHer annoying, as you Can probably Tell jusT by reading THis.

(LasT Time, iT goT beTTer auTomaTiCally afTer a wHile, buT THis Happened aT leasT six Hours ago and isn'T sHowing any signs of improVemenT.)

HeHe...

IT suCks THaT THe keyboard does noT work rigHT, buT iT does make for an inTeresTing looking posT!

THis sounds like a CirCuiTry problem. You'll probably need To send iT ouT To geT fixed. Try pusHing down on THe keyboard wiTH THe palms of your Hands wiTH reasonable forCe (noT TOO muCH To break iT, buT enougH To bend THe CirCuiT board beneaTH sligHTly). If THe problem geTs worse or beTTer afTer, I'd puT my money on some ComponenT needing To be re-soldered, wHiCH THey Can do aT THe faCTory onCe THey isolaTe THe CirCuiT.

I don't think anyone bothers repairing keyboards anymore; you can pick them up at Wal-mart for under 20 bucks. But it does sound like a hardware problem.

When I switched the computer on this morning, it had started working as normal.

@ computerlove: at the time of the first incident, I asserted that the person who sat on the laptop should fork out for the repair, but my mother is always protecting my brother (and his friends) from any negative consequences for his actions, so he got away with it. He's lucky the computer fixed itself, because if it hadn't I would have made him pay.

In this case, however, it was broken by my dog walking over it, and dogs aren't capable of paying for laptop repairs anyway.

Get a new keyboard. They are inexpensive.

I thought it was the keyboard in his laptop?
But, you could just add an external keyboard too.

Good to hear it's back to normal, but if it happens again, FIRST thing you should do is SHOW it to your mom.
