All right, I see a lot of online dictionaries floating around, so what I want to know is this:

Can I collect the spellings and pronunciations of all words in a dictionary, store them on a personal database, and write a script that allows the user to search them for lexical and phonetic properties? How would I legally do this? (What do other dictionary producers do?)

Check the licenses and copyright notices of the sources you plan to use. If it's only intended for personal use, I think you're OK.
