More autistic traits. Tonight's episode, The Deposition, Michael is supposed to testify for both Jan and the company. He has verbal cues for his scripted testimony. When the questions change he can't adjust. His diary is brought in (to his horror) and it's clear he is unable to deal with his relationship with Jan.
He makes inappropriate, immature and digressive sexual jokes (that confuse more than offend).
His current supervisor, Ryan, makes inference to him (to be loyal to the company) that goes over his head.

I think it's funny that people are rationalizing that the coolest, best looking, and most socially normal male character on the show is an aspie. If he is, then we are the anti-aspie.

He has no social anxiety. He's very tactful with his words. He has no problem interpreting facial expressions. He has no difficulty with language. He didn't "believe" he was dating Pam when she was engaged, he was just projecting. Many people pack their favorite sandwiches for work everyday, it's not uncommon. And the list goes on........

There is a scene where they are recounting their "worst dates" and Jim describes going out to lunch with Pam believing it was a date. He didn't know it was just lunch and he didn't know she was engaged.
Most of his tact comes from being quiet. Two eps ago he completely flipped out when he was surprised by Karen's comments. He usually plays it "cool" because he stays close to a script.
I've observed that most people pack a variety of stuff when they pack lunches. My husband takes a lunch to work and they tease him. He's the oddball. He doesn't even get the same lunch, but packing a lunch is seen as really geeky. "Jim" ate the same sandwich for 3 years.

I'm looking at him as a whole picture.

People who are, or think they are, aspies love to project there traits onto other people. And they LOVE to project onto celebrities in particular. If they see a hint of anything, they immediates pull out the "A" word. It makes them feel good about themselves. They feel it adds value to who they are and justifies their behavior.

Packs the same lunch, must be an aspie. Went on a what he thought was a date but didn't realize the girl was engaged, must be an aspie. Coolest guy on the show, must be an aspie. Sensative, must be an aspie. A little more reserved than the rest, must be aspie. Got caught off guard by one comment out of dozens and dozens of episodes, must be an aspie.

But your absolutely right, anyone who has any quirk of any kind is an aspie. Being that is the case, we should start calling ourselves NTs and NTs should be called aspies....

You know, you can make fun of what you want. Jim is a character and not necessarily an appealing one. So, all those things that you're projecting on to my post are just as ridiculous (and insulting to boot) as what you claim I'm thinking. And why are you referring to me as "people" and repeating your line?

If you could read the whole posts, you'd realize that I'm discussing a picture of a person. The individual traits of course don't mean anything alone. That's what I was clarifying. But it seems you're more interested in making fun of me.

When are they going to air some new epsiodes?

Have you seen the epsiode from season two when Pam goes on vacation and ryan the temp is sitting at Pam's spot and Jim keeps looking at Ryan and briefly stares at Ryan. Ryan will keep asking Jim what he is looking at, then it goes to a talking head segment with Ryan and he states that he is a little creep out by Jim constantly looking at me, but its nothing compared to the way Micheal stares at me. It then shows Micheal intensely staring at Ryan through the blinds of in his office, Ryan catches him doing it and he looks away then walks away. Another trait possibly?

Or how about the epsiode where Micheal assigns Dwight to find out if Ocasr is really sick. The is a floating head segement with Dwight were he starts talking about how to tell if somebody is lying, then at very end he states "unforutanely i talked to Oscar on the phone so none of this applies". I found that quite funny, if the director of this show is somewhere on the autism spectrum he has a great sense of humor but he also is helping fellow aspises etc, if you pay really close attention the show is full of hints on how to understand if a person is lying to you, teasing you and so on.

There is one epsiode when Kelly is telling a lie to someone and as she is telling it, she turns her head to the side then looks down.
There is another epsiode where they are all in the conference room and they start bugging Micheal and it zooms in on Kelly and she winks to the camera after she says something, possibly showing that its not maclious teasing but friendly teasing.

Im prision mike. hahahaha i was just reminded of the time when Micheal is wearing a bandana and says he is prision mike.

I love this show as well. I admit at first i'd get pretty upset with Micheal's behaviour, I just couldn't understand why he behaved they way he did. The more i learn about Asperger's syndrome the more understanding become.
I was watching the fun run esposide last night and things that have stood out in my mind are the following:
His need to get Mertidh to forgive him for hitting her with his car, in hopes of making the guilt of hitting her go away so he wouldn't replay his mistake in his head for a long time and possibly becoming depressed as a result.
His statement about trying to fit in all his life.
His statement that he is not obssessed with being praised but is obssessed with being liked or something along those lines.
