20. Pirates of Silicon Valley - thought it was okay, not my cup of tea
19. Short Circuit - fun movie
18. Hackers - thought it was abysmal, absolute wrong representation of what real hacking is like
17. Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan - in my queue
16. WarGames - good nerd film
15. Repo Man - stranger than strange, absolutely classic
14. Planet of the Apes -
13. Alien - classic, one of ridley scott's best
12. Akira - one of the only anime's ill ever like unfortunately
11. Pi - cool math movie, really strange
10. Office Space - a must see, anyone who's ever worked in a cubical will understand it completely
9. The Original Star Wars - i dont think i even have to say anything
8. The Matrix - i liked it, but i do think it is a bit overrated,
7. Metropolis - have yet to see this
6. Brazil - really weird/hilarious dystopia film
5. Serenity - have yet to see it
4. Lord of the Rings - geeky as they come
3. Spaceballs - fun star wars parody
2. Bladerunner - one of my favorite films ever
1. 2001 - one of the best science fiction films ever made

4. Lord of the Rings 2001, Peter Jackson I really liked the trilogy, especially the Director's cut.
3. Spaceballs 1987, Mel Brooks I liked it.
2. Bladerunner 1982, Ridley Scott I tried watching it two or three times, it bored the heck out of me.

good god!

the 2001 movie was trash!

the book was only moderately enjoyable. But the movie was one of the worst adaptions in cinematic history!

Stanley Kubrick should have been shot for that effort rather than lauded!

Now Bladerunner, that was a movie I enjoyed almost as much as the book.

I've only seen 17 (own it), 14 (like someone else said, it was okay . . .), 10 (fun, but I wouldn't watch it again), 9 (liked), 8 (liked), 5 (loved), 4 (loved), 3 (loved) and 1 (it's okay if you're drunk) . . .

lol guess what, the book and film of 2001 were both written at the same time by Arthur C. Clarke along with Stanley Kubrick.

but yes, i to enjoy Blade Runner as much as Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, they are both different from one another but still manage to tell great stories.

Really? Then Clarke should be shot along with him... as long as he had already finished the Rama series at that stage :)

echo your sentiments on Blade Runner though. It was great to see two different stories with the same characters set in the same universe but told really well. Though I never read the book till after I had seen the movie. Don't know how that might colour my judgement, but they were both great works of art.
