Sadly, we are not. And perhaps we never will escape our basic nature. If we did, I think we would have ceased to be human.

Are you sure we wouldn't just be expanding the definition of the word? Humanity, like glass, never really soldifies. It just moves so slowly that we tend to miss the changes from one moment to the next.

True, but some things remain vital to the human condition no matter how we change or grow.
