Since this is the closest related forum I figured I would post this here.

Are there any musical theater fans out here, like myself? Musical theater has always been a top passion of mine ever since I was young. I have seen a bunch of musicals and have many favorites.

I would love to talk about this passion of mine with other musical theater lovers out there.

I love theater. I started going to shows when I was young, and in college I started working in theater and the obsession just got worse! I LOVE Wicked, RENT, Blood Brothers, Jersey Boys, The Last Five Years, Les Mis, Phantom, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast, Avenue Q, Sweeny Todd, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown...the list goes on and on and on and on!! !

What are your favorite shows?

I love musical theatre. I used to perform, but have not done that for some time (oddly enough, it was almost impossible to socialize ad hoc, not difficult to act in theatre, and positively enjoyable to act in musical theatre).
I like just about everything (favorites including RENT, Les Miserables, and some Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber) (side note: anyone who's heard Julian Lloyd Webber play - isn't he great? my favorite cellist). Anything I don't know, I'll happily experience on advice.

My first cd was the original cast recording of "Fiddler on the Roof". I have to get a new copy, it got so scratched up because I played it so much (on repeat for about 7-8 years). I have it in Yiddish as well.

I am a really big fan of Rodger's and Hammerstein musicals. Just about any of 'em really. I don't particularly care much for Webber or Sondheim (sacrilige I know). I love, absolutely love, French musicals...Les Mis (the original), and Notre Dame come to mind. And I have a particular warm, fuzzy feeling towards Spamalot.

My favorites include: Les Miz, Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Beauty and The Beast, The Lion King, Rent, The Music Man, Momma Mia, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, to name a few. I have seen many touring shows in Boston and Hartford. Being located near the Big Apple I have seen some on Broadway too.

I have acted (ensemble) in many musicals during my youth, and have done some backstage work too. I actually went to school for several years for Stage Management but change that career path once I realized how difficult it was to get a decent job in that field. I would love to work for a regional theater someday. My dream is to manage one.

Yes! I loooooooove musical theatre. Love love love it. Half of what I listen to is showtunes, lol. It's one of my obsessions.

I love Musical Theatre too. I used to do shows and had so much fun. I am hoping to find a local theatre group and start performing again

One of my favorite lines of all time is from wicked. " a prince shows up now everyone is obessed with a cultish social gathering." Something an Aspie would say.
